The client was using a Slack plus plan and wanted to migrate a huge volume of data from the Slack channel to the Teams channel in a short time. We could achieve that using multiple service accounts.

  • We started the inventory assessment to identify the Slack workspace channels list and identified the Public, Private and External Shared Channels.  
  • The inventory message volume and files were high and so we planned to proceed with the channel migration on multiple tools simultaneously. 
  • To achieve this, we split up the channels on multiple tool instances and speeded up the channel migration process using multiple service accounts.  
  • We also planned and started the initial migration based on the message volume and completed the migration.  
  • Finally, we moved to go live on time without any delays. 

Business gains 

  • Since we proceeded with the migration on parallel in multiple tool instances, we overcame the MS throttles. 
  • Though the message and files volume were very high, the client was able to migrate to MS Teams in a short time due to our planned migration using multiple service accounts in multiple tools.
