Migrate from IBM Connections and retain the same look and feel in SharePoint

IBM Connections Communities has a rich text box description field where you add texts, images, videos, etc. But SharePoint’s default site description has a character limit of up to 255 characters only. However, when you migrate using AVAMIGRATRON, you get a separate text web part for the homepage in SharePoint to give you a similar experience with rich text format maintained in the Community dashboard’s description same as in the IBM Connections.  

When you add apps such as blogs, wikis, forums, files, bookmarks, etc., in IBM Connections, it will be displayed as a widget on the home page. Since you do not get the same look and feel in SharePoint using the default features, our custom web parts will help you get the same look and feel on the home page by displaying the apps as widgets. 

Left navigation Web Part 

This is primarily for the left navigation of wikis and blogs on your IBM Connections. The left navigation is used for easy navigation among wikis. Our ‘Left navigation web part’ will retain the same look and feel in SharePoint too.  

In IBM Connections, Wikis have the parent-child hierarchy, and you have the feature of creating until the nth level of hierarchy for wikis. But we have a limit for creating only 3 levels of hierarchies in the SharePoint default quick launch. To get you that feature, our left navigation web part will create the ‘nth’ level of hierarchy for wikis in SharePoint. 

Forum Web parts

In IBM Connections, Forum is a discussion platform where you create questions, topics, add likes, comments, etc. When you migrate Forums to the Modern SharePoint experience, there’s no equivalent mapping. Worry not!! We migrate the content to a list and retrieve the same look and feel using the custom web parts.
